Summer days

The heady days of August. Yet more flowers, but it is apparent that the flowers are a bit tall and lanky. Perhaps we sowed our seed a little too densely. The cosmos leaves are there but so far not the flowers. Already the butterflies have been scoping out the flowers. We had planted perennial wildflower seeds too but we don’t expect to see them until next year.

In the May planting we seeded some small wildflower seeds around the sidewalk edge and now they are blooming. but, as the summer progressed they died and did not re-flower. These small wildflowers were not replanted in the fall as Parks had discovered that most of this mix were not wildflowers indigenous to the East coast.
